A MUCH-NEEDED refurbishment for the Men's Shed at Leitchville has received $21,360 in Victorian Government funding.
"More men in Leitchville will be building new friendships, skills and community connections," Member for Northern Victoria, Mark Gepp said yesterday.
Mr Gepp said the men's shed program improves the health and well-being of participants by promoting social inclusion.
"I'm delighted the Victorian Government is investing in refurbishing the Leitchville Men's Shed," he said.
"The benefits of men's sheds across Victoria are enormous because they give local men the opportunity to socialise, create things and help each other out," he said.
Mr Gepp said country municipalities like Leitchville benefited greatly from the inclusive programs run in men's sheds.
The Minister for Families and Children, Jenny Mikakos has announced that Leitchville is one of 10 to be refurbished..
The 2017-18 funding has focussed on projects from disadvantaged communities and areas that were experiencing significant economic and social change.
"Men's sheds play a vital role in local communities throughout the State. We're proud to support the movement that gives back to the local community as well as improving men's health and well-being."
