ONE man has died and another has been injured in an accident at the former Murray Goulburn dairy factory at Leitchville.
It is believed that equipment fell onto the men while they were working in a shed at the rear of the factory.
One man was able to be removed from the shed by firefighters and paramedics and was stabilised at the scene before being transferred by an ambulance helicopter to Bendigo Hospital.
Fire and State Emergency Service rescue crews, paramedics and firefighters rushed to the scene shortly after 11am on Wednesday, but were unable to revive one of the men.
Contractors are currently decommissioning the former dairy processing factory.
It is believed that the two men were the only ones in the shed and that two other men were working nearby.
The factory site has been closed by police pending attendance by WorkSafe and police investigators.
A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
