A REFRESHED Leitchville/Gunbower will aim to remain in touch with top spot on the Heathcote District Football Netball League ladder tomorrow with a win against Mount Pleasant.
The defending premiers led the competition 14 days ago, but a round four loss at Colbinabbin and last weekend's bye has resulted in the Bombers dropping to third on the ladder.
Michael Pilcher's side can move to second on the ladder with a 10th consecutive win at the Leitchville Recreation Reserve, with the hosts not losing to Mount Pleasant since May 2014.
The Blues boast one of its best sides on paper since last appearing in the finals in 2014, led by former Kyneton player, Ben Weightman.
One of the Bendigo Football Netball League's top goalkickers prior to relocating to the HDFNL, Weightman has kicked 15 goals in his five games for the Blues, but will need to be on top of his battle with either Ryan Prendergast or Logan Prout if the visitors are to win.
Down the other end of the ground, Matt Perri looms as the danger player for the hosts, with last season's leading goalkicker already on track for a repeat effort.
Perri has kicked 26 goals in his first four games of the season – 10 more than the next best players on the league table – and can add another bag of majors to his haul if Matt Ladson, Matt Pollock and Mitchell Bruns control proceedings in the middle of the ground.
Charles Trotman and Nicholas Butler will have other ideas for the visitors, but the Bombers' ruck options of Pilcher, Russell De Groot and Lee Pollock will lead the way for the hosts.
The Bombers won both encounters between both sides last year by an average of 156 points, but the result will be much closer tomorrow.
PREDICTION: Leitchville/Gunbower will win by 50 points.
