MADDY Baldwin's goal of being drafted to an Australian Football League Women's side received a boost this week, with the 16-year-old in line to represent Victoria Country at this year's AFL Women's Under 18 Championships.

The Cohuna Secondary College student is one of 32 teenagers in line to represent Country Victoria's title hopes during the annual competition, which begins on Saturday, June 16 with a match against Victoria Metro at Geelong's Kardinia Park.

The competition will then move to the Gold Coast, with games occurring between July 9 and 13.

Baldwin debuted for the Bendigo Pioneers in this year's TAC Cup Girls competition, with the midfielder playing in seven of the team's eight matches so far this season, with the final round occurring tomorrow.
