A TRUCK driver escaped serious injury when his vehicle ran out of control and rolled down a sidecut near Kerang on Tuesday.
The Bendigo man, aged 40, was driving north along the Loddon Valley Highway near Tragowel shortly before 7am when the truck careered through roadside vegetation and came to a stop on its left side on the edge of a drain, 16 kilometres south of Kerang.
The driver managed to free himself and was standing nearby when emergency services arrived. He was conveyed by ambulance to Bendigo Base Hospital.
Acting Sergeant Zac Bull said that heavy haulage equipment was being organised to retrieve the truck.
He said that the driver was "extremely lucky" to escape without serious injuries.
