NEARLY 40 per cent of men in outer regional areas have reported using intimate partner violence, as family violence incidents in the Gannawarra and Swan Hill shires are at their highest levels in five years.

In a nationwide study conducted for the Australian Institute of Family Studies, more than one in three men responded that they have used some form of intimate partner violence in their lives.
