THE forecast is good for a relaxed day at Kerang's Boxing Day Races on Thursday.

Last year, extreme heat triggered an early start to racing, but with a predicted temperature in the mid 30s this year, conditions should be fine on both the track and lush lawns of Alexandra Park.

Six races will be run at the meeting, with the fields set to be finalised on Sunday.
