Golf report February 22

Cohuna

Geoff Miller has been playing very well lately and this run of form continued last Thursday when he took out the R&R Stableford event with 39 points.

Geoff was one of the last in, so up to that point both John Corry and Dennis Griffiths thought they were a pretty good chance with 37, but unfortunately had to settle for 2nd and 3rd after being split on countback.

NTP prizes went to Brenton Smyth on 8, Rin Farrant on 11 and Kevin Crane on 17.

On Saturday we were visited by a large contingent of players from Rich River and they featured strongly at presentation time. Local knowledge did prevail overall however as Dennis

Griffiths continued his good form with an excellent 41 with Bruce Bird putting in a pearler with 40.

Visitors John Tomlinson and Mark Scholes came in 3rd being split on countback with 38.

NTP's all went eastward with visitors Steven Jones taking 2 and 8, Kevin Drennan on 11 and Brendan Kelly on 8.

For something a bit different we had a 4BBB v Stroke event for both the men and the ladies. The ladies winners were Ros Dunne and Viv Moylan with nett 64 on countback from Sandra Hancock and Marg Winship.

For the men, Jarad Smith and Trevor Farrant came out on top with nett 63 from Murray Johnson and Dennis McGlone on 64.

Ladies NTP's went to Corrie Murchie on 2, Linda Moloney on 8 and Robyn McGraw on 17.

For the men, John Power was closest on 2, Jarad Smith on 8 and Brenton Smyth took out both 11 and 17.

On Sunday, our pennant team travelled to Balranald to play but unfortunately went down to Nyah West 2 matches to one. Hopefully they will bounce back this week at home. If you would like to show some support, tee time is approximately 9am. This will not have any effect on our Sunday club event.

The club needs someone to take over from me for a little while soon, so if anyone would like to take up the pen and submit these reports for a short time, please come and see me.

Our pennant side went to Baranald to play against Balranald and came away with a win 2 up and one match squared, next week it's off to Cohuna to play against Lalbert and it's a must win to make the finals so good luck team.
