MACORNA came agonisingly close to breaking through for their first win of the season on Saturday, with the Tigers falling just two goals short of an upset win over finals bound Ultima.

In a season of upsets, the Tigers almost caused the shock of the year, having led for much of the afternoon against the third placed Roos.
