2000 emus culled in Tragowel avian flu outbreak

AT least 2000 birds have been euthanased at the Tragowel emu farm, which was affected by an outbreak of avian influenza last week.

The influenza strain detetcted at the farm is of a different and milder strain to the bird flu that hit several egg and poultry farms in Golden Plains Shire and at Bairnsdale and is not linked to them, according to Agriculture Victoria.
