THE Kerang Scout Group is saluting its first Queen's Scout in 25 years.

Year 12 student Allen Veloso, of the Lake Boga-based Catalina Venturer Scout Unit, has achieved the highest youth award in the Scouting movement.

So impressive is the award, it's even helping 18-year-old Mr Veloso get into university.
