POLICE are praising locals for their efforts in keeping the roads safe over the Easter and Anzac period, amid a spate of visitor offences.

Swan Hill police Sergeant Zac Bull said he was pleased with locals' behaviour on Gannawarra, Buloke and Swan Hill roads during the statewide Operation Compass.
