SIX pigs were killed in a fire at a piggery in Mincha West on Sunday afternoon which saw crews from Macorna, Leitchville and Cohuna called to the scene.

Macorna brigade captain Daniel Crichton said a passerby noticed smoke coming from the building at about 2pm.

Mr Crichton said the plastic floor of the piggery caught alight.
