KERANG locals have been treated to a fascinating piece of aviation history at their airport recently, with a warbird on the tarmac.

The Grumman Avenger was to feature at the now postponed Serpentine commemorative event celebrating 100 years since a race between World War I pilots departed the town in 1920 to help promote the Australian Government's Peace Bonds.
