WITH even residents of the narrowly defined border zone unable to visit for anything but essentials, Barham businesses have taken a significant hit from the tightening of border restrictions late last month.

Barham IGA owner Mel Faul said the supermarket wasn't badly affected but retail and hospitality businesses in the town were suffering.
