KOONDROOK post office staff were caught in border tensions last week while attempting to assist elderly residents needing to enter NSW for basic supplies such as food and fuel.

While NSW Health Minister Brad Hazzard granted an exemption on Tuesday night for residents of selected remote border communities, including Koondrook, to enter NSW for such essential supplies, doing so proved a challenge.
