LOCAL road users have greeted the opening of the new Appin South bridge with enthusiasm.

The dual-lane concrete structure has replaced a single-lane wooden bridge over the Loddon River on South Appin Rd.

It is still subject to reduced speed limits until the sealing of the road surface either side of it is complete, which is expected to be in the next three weeks, weather permitting.
