NINE-year-old Dempsey Wells will go under the razor this weekend.

The grade 4 Cohuna Consolidated student is giving up his long locks to raise money for blood cancer research as part of the World's Greatest Shave.

His mum, Lynne Wells, said the idea to take part in the initiative had been all Dempsey's.

"He was nagging me since last year to sign him up and make sure he could do it," she said.
