Eye strain prevalent during COVID period

Digital devices are a strong and growing presence in our lives, especially with working and schooling from home during the COVID-19 crisis. Extended viewing of screens has led to many people seeking advice about eye strain, and the use of blue light filters on spectacles.

"Our eyes naturally like to focus further than 6m away, so they have to work quite hard to view a screen at 30-50cm for a long period of time. Symptoms arise such as blurred vision, discomfort, red and dry eyes, and headaches," says local Swan Hill optometrist Jenalle Pye said.
