KEEN local fishermen Peter O'Brien and son Grady spent December 27 at Lake Meran ridding the lake of a trailer load of unwanted carp.

The carp were thrashing around in shallow water at the south-east end of the lake, which drew them to the attention of the O'Briens, who proceeded to load the fish into their trailer.
