ROAD work in Kerang’s central business district which was delayed by heavy rain last month is set to begin on Sunday night.
The work, to resurface the CBD section of Victoria Street, and Scoresby Street between Fitzroy and Victoria streets, is now scheduled for Sunday, Monday and Tuesday nights.
The work will begin at 8pm on Sunday, and at 6pm on Monday and Tuesday and will be finished by 6am the following day.
The roadworks, which are part of the council’s annual sealed road maintenance program, include the laying of new asphalt at the Fitzroy-Scoresby street and the Scoresby-Victoria street roundabouts.
The upgrade of the Scoresby-Victoria street roundabout has twice been delayed by heavy rainfall this year.
In March a temporary seal was applied to the intersection.
Gannawarra Shire Council CEO Tom O’Reilly once again thanked drivers, residents and business owners for their patience in relation to the works, which should be complete by May 13.
