Night work on Kerang roads

KERANG’s main road is set for a facelift, with night work to resurface the CBD section of Victoria Street due to be carried out next week.
The Fitzroy to Victoria Street section of Scoresby Street will also be repaired.
Works at both locations are scheduled to be done from 6pm and 6am between Tuesday and Thursday.
They will include the laying of new asphalt at the intersections of Victoria-Scoresby street and Fitzroy-Scoresby street.
Gannawarra Shire CEO Tom O’Reilly thanked residents and business owners in advance for their patience during the process.
“These works are part of Council’s annual sealed road maintenance program,” he said.
“[It] will be the first time works of this magnitude have occurred in the Kerang CBD since the rejuvenation of Victoria Square.”
Mr O’Reilly said work to upgrade the intersection of Scoresby and Victoria streets began at the end of February but had been delayed due to heavy rains.
“A holding seal was applied to the road surface at the intersection in mid-March, which reduced the level of dust raised by the number of motorists who use the intersection,” he said.
