CONSTRUCTION of the Cohuna solar farm, 8km south of the town, is proceeding smoothly, with the project expected to be producing power and connected to the grid by the end of the year, according to owners Enel Green Power.
The $61 million project, located in Horfield, involves the installation of 87,000 bi-facial solar panels over an area of 82 hectares.
The two-sided panels will enable the farm to generate power from both direct sunlight and reflection, and will work with a tracking mechanism to follow the sun.
