Two new COVID cases in Koondrook

TWO new positive COVID-19 cases have been confirmed in Koondrook on Monday. 

The new cases are the only active cases in the Gannawarra Shire. 

There are three active cases in the Murray River Council local government area, all of which are confined to the Barham township.

Northern District Community Health (NDCH) confirmed the new cases in Koondrook on Monday afternoon.

NDCH said contact tracing teams were conducting interviews and would contact individuals and businesses considered at highest risk.

"There are no new exposure sites at the moment," they said in a statement.

The two positive cases are being supported by Cohuna District Hospital and the Loddon Mallee Public Health Unit.

Anyone with symptoms, no matter how mild, should get tested.

High risk exposure sites will be published on the Victorian Department of Health's website coronavirus.vic.gov.au/case-alerts-public-exposure-sites.

There were 1903 new local cases on Sunday, bringing the number of active cases in the state to 22,327.

Seven people lost their lives. 

Meanwhile, there were 265 new local cases in NSW on Monday.
