Paddlers persevere

COOL and pleasant conditions greeted participants in this year's Massive Murray Paddle for the final leg from Murrabit to Swan Hill, following the furnace like conditions that forced the abandonment of Thursday's scheduled section of the race.

The gentle and refreshing breeze at the start on Friday made for a dramatic contrast, but those tagging along in support vehicles were warned not to park in long grass at the stops along the way to minimise the risk of starting a fire in the bone-dry countryside.
