FOOTBALL is on hold, but fundraising efforts for Kerang's junior footy players are firing up as the winter chill bites.

Firewood is the key, and lots of it, with the club having already taken delivery of a second B-double truck load, weighing in at close to 40 tonnes.

The first load was split between the club's now annual wood raffle, and sales, with the vast majority going to the latter.
